Announcing…. Hometown Healthy with….
Hometown Happenings builds our community by empowering all ages to create the confidence to live their happiest, healthy life. Through fitness & fun, our events include themed runs & walks, nite bike rides & fitness challenges just to name a few!
In working towards this goal, we look for experts in the field who share our passion and mission. With this, we are pleased to announce our new partner in helping us build happier & healthier lives, Jay Cherry. We met Jay Cherry through a mutual friend and were inspired by her story. A fitness coach & barre instructor, Jay was part of the Chicago Blackhawks Ice Crew from 2015 through 2018. Having never skated before, she was initially turned down but was called back as she possessed many of the qualities they were looking for. She worked tirelessly on both skating & her knowledge of the sport. Even with these efforts, competition was tough. She was competing against former figure skaters and hockey players and, of the 150 candidates, only 6 slots were available. Against these odds, she made the team! Now, she feels that just about any goal can be achieved given the right attitude and proper amount of preparation.
