One of the fun activities planned for the Space Race 5K Run & Walk is a space-themed costume contest. Participants are encouraged to come as their favorite character from a movie or tv show or to make up their own version of a space-themed character.
Still, not everyone sews. Fortunately for all of us, help is available! Ginger’s SPYCEware Sewing Center at 116 N. Main Street in Crown Point is offering costume assistance for a nominal charge each Saturday morning leading up to the Race. The sessions will start at 9 am and sewing machines and thread will be provided. All you need to bring is your pattern, your fabric and some basic sewing skills.
Creating your own costumes would be a fun space-themed activity you can partake in even before the Race starts! For families doing group costumes, this would be a fun way to get the kids to participate in creating their costumes. For more information and to reserve a space, call Ginger at (219) 663-6973. She will be happy to assist you!
